Very nice medal bar of exceptionally good quality! Has hardly any signs of use. The medal bar has a good working clasp.
The ‘Kriegsverdienstkreuz’ is marked on the reverse with maker:
‘R.V. 43 Pforzheim’.
The German WW1 Merit Cross for War Aid (German: Verdienstkreuz für Kriegshilfe Verdienstkreuz fuer Kriegshilfsdienst) was a war decoration of Prussia awarded during World War I. Instituted 5 December 1916, the cross was awarded for patriotic war aid service, without regard to status or rank.
